Western Heights is a suburb of Auckland, New Zealand. Originally considered as an overpriced part of Henderson, Western Heights has increasingly been considered a suburb in its own right as its population has increased, mainly through the construction of subdivisions. Western Heights School and the nearby shops are the centre of the community. Western Heights is a "frontier suburb", separating suburban Auckland from lifestyle farming blocks, orchards and the Waitakere Ranges. The local State secondary schools are Henderson High School, Waitakere College, Massey High School, Liston College and St Dominic's College.
There are numerous references to "palms" throughout the suburb, although this appears to be a confusion - while there is a multitude of cycads, there is also a total dearth of real palms.
