West Tawakoni is a city in Hunt County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,576 at the 2010 census. West Tawakoni is located on the west side of Lake Tawakoni, while its twin city East Tawakoni is located on the east side of the lake.

West Tawakoni is located at 32°54′9″N 96°1′28″W / 32.90250°N 96.02444°W / 32.90250; -96.02444 (32.902544, -96.024452).
