The West Seattle Herald is now part of a weekly newspaper called Westside Seattle serving the areas of Ballard, West Seattle, White Center, Burien, Des Moines, and SeaTac. On June 9, 2017 it became part of a website serving the West Seattle neighborhood of Seattle, Washington called WestsideSeattle.com. The newspaper was founded in 1923.
On August 21, 2013, it was announced that the paper, along with the Ballard News-Tribune, White Center News, and Highline Times, would be combined into The Westside Weekly as of September 6. The name changed to Westside Seattle in the spring of 2017.
In 2014, Amanda Knox began writing for the West Seattle Herald.
