This article includes a list of characters from the Disney DuckTales animated franchise, including the original 1987 series and the 2017 reboot series, as well as one theatrical movie and several video games and comics. Many of them previously appeared in the Uncle Scrooge comic book series and other media pertaining to the Disney Duck universe.

Scrooge McDuck (voiced by Alan Young in the 1987 series and by David Tennant in the 2017 series) is the richest duck in the world and the main protagonist of the series. Scrooge is constantly seeking ways to further increase his wealth (his favorite pastime appears to be treasure hunting), and to avoid losing it. He was a self-made billionaire when he left Scotland and came to America with his lucky number one dime that made him the richest duck in the world. The only thing Scrooge values more than money is his family. In the original 1987 series, he sports a blue jacket with red cuffs and a red collar.

For the 2017 reboot, Scrooge's background is slightly different. He is well known as a seasoned "adventure-capitalist", who used to conduct adventures with his nephew Donald joining him. However an incident occurred that led to an estrangement between the pair and Scrooge losing the spark for adventure. Ten years after this incident, Scrooge regains this spark when he is reunited with Donald and introduced to his grand-nephews for the first time. The reboot sees him wearing a red jacket with visible pockets and black cuffs and collar, as per his comic book appearance.

Huey, Dewey, and Louie (all voiced by Russi Taylor in the 1987 series; in the 2017 series, Huey is voiced by Danny Pudi, Dewey by Ben Schwartz and Louie by Bobby Moynihan) are triplets and the nephews of Donald Duck, and the grand-nephews of Scrooge. All three tend to be playful and mischievous, but adore their uncle and grand-uncle greatly. In the original 1987 series, the triplets are sent to Scrooge to stay with him, while their uncle leaves to join the navy. All three are identical in appearance and personality, and wear identical outfits - a cap and jumper- with the only difference between each of them being the color of their clothing - Huey wears red, Dewey wears blue, and Louie wears green. The introduction of this scheme by DuckTales was adapted for later use in future animations that featured the triplets.
