It forms a city municipal corporation council electoral constituency and is a part of Bhabanipur (Vidhan Sabha constituency).
The boundaries of the ward are: Outram Road, Nellie Sengupta Sarani, Collin Lane and Park Street are in the north. Mirza Ghalib Street, Rafi Ahmed Kiwai Road and Acharyya Jagadish Bose Road are to the east. Acharya Jagadish Chandra Bose Road is to the south. Kidderpore Road, Casurina Avenue, Chowringhee Road and Jawahjarlal Nehru Road are to the west.
