It forms a city municipal corporation council electoral constituency and is a part of Ballygunge (Vidhan Sabha constituency).
The boundaries of the ward are: Muzaffar Ahmed Street and Benia Pukur Lane are in the north. Jannagar Road, Crematorium Street, Harekrishna Konar Road and Acharyya Jagadish Bose Road are to the east. Park Street is to the south. Rafi Ahmed Kidwai Street is to the west.
