Ward No. 6, Kolkata Municipal Corporation is an administrative division of Kolkata Municipal Corporation in Borough No. 1, covering parts of Chitpur neighbourhood in north Kolkata, in the Indian state of West Bengal.
The boundaries of the ward are as follows: Rustomji Parsee Road and Khagendra Chatterjee Road are to the north. Rustomji Parsee Road, Cossipore Road and Barrackpore Trunk Road are to the east. The Circular Canal is to the south. The Hooghly River is to the west.
The ward is served by Cossipore and Chitpur police stations of Kolkata Police.
As per 2011 Census of India Ward No. 6, Kolkata Municipal Corporation had a total population of 42,346, of which 22,977 (54%) were males and 19,369 (46%) were females. Population below 6 years was 3,962. The total number of literates in Ward No. 6 was 31,137 (81.12 % of the population over 6 years).
According to the District Census Handbook Kolkata 2011, 141 wards of Kolkata Municipal Corporation formed Kolkata district. (3 wards were added later).
The ward forms a city municipal corporation council electoral constituency and is a part of Kashipur-Belgachhia (Vidhan Sabha constituency).
