Ward No. 17, Kolkata Municipal Corporation is an administrative division of Kolkata Municipal Corporation in Borough No. 2, covering parts of Shobhabazar and Darjipara neighbourhoods in north Kolkata, in the Indian state of West Bengal. It forms a city municipal corporation council electoral constituency and is a part of Shyampukur (Vidhan Sabha constituency).
The boundaries of the ward are as follows: Sri Aurobindo Sarani is to the north. Bidhan Sarani is to the east. Dani Ghosh Sarani is to the south. Jatindra Mohan Avenue is to the west.
As per 2011 Census of India Ward No. 17, Kolkata Municipal Corporation had a total population of 21,023, of which 10,824 (51%) were males and 10,199 (49%) were females. Population below 6 years was 1,160. The total number of literates in Ward No. 17 was 18,333 (92.30% of the population over 6 years).
