It forms a city municipal corporation council electoral constituency and is a part of Behala Paschim (Vidhan Sabha constituency)
The boundaries of the ward are: Ho Chi Minh Sarani is in the north. Baghpota Road, Jadab Ghosh Road and Sarsuna Main Road.are in the east. A line drawn along Sarsuna mauza, Sibrampur mauza and Shibrampur Road is in the south. A line drawn along Sonamukhi mauza, Sarsuna mauza and Sibrampur mauza is in the west.
