Wakasa (若狭町 Wakasa-chō?) is a town located in Mikatakaminaka District, Fukui Prefecture, Japan.
Wakasa was formed on March 31, 2005 by the merger of the former towns of Mikata, from Mikata District, and Kaminaka, from Onyū District.
As of October 1, 2005, the total estimated population of the merged towns is 16,782 with a density of 93.94 persons per km². The total area is 178.65 km².
