WWE Heroes is an American celebrity comics comic book series, published by Titan Publishing and written by Keith Champagne with art by Andy Smith.
It stars WWE's most popular wrestlers, such as John Cena and Triple H.
The first issue was released in April 2010 with a continual storyline called Rise of the Firstborn. A different but similar story continues in the Undertaker's 2-part issue.
In ancient times, a battle between good and evil immortals was waged pitting the good Firstborn against the evil Shadow King. Somehow the war spilled into the real world and into the WWE ring. During a WrestleMania match in progress, an evil terrorist organization led by Brother Josiah planned on eliminating the Firstborn who was disguised as a WWE Superstar.
Some Superstars like Edge, CM Punk, and Chris Jericho decided to side with Brother Josiah and the Shadow King while others like Shawn Michaels, Undertaker, Big Show, Rey Mysterio, John Cena and the other Superstars and Divas try to fight against the terrorists. Meanwhile, WWE Hall of Famer Roddy Piper tries to infiltrate the arena while it was barricaded by law enforcement, some of them who were bought by Josiah.
During the battle against the Shadow King's followers, Triple H seemed like he was about to perish, but he surprised Josiah and attacked him. Triple H rallies the WWE roster to fight back against the terrorists and Edge and Jericho who were given spiritual manifestations of their power by the Shadow King who were defeating Shawn Michaels and his manifestation. The roster soon finds out that the arena was rigged with explosives. Triple H reveals to the roster of his true identity as the Firstborn as he squared off against the Shadow King Thrune (an anagram of "Hunter") as some of the fans were being taken by the shadows. Triple H managed to temporarily defeat the Shadow King as the bomb exploded. Most of the WWE Roster and the fans and staff got out unscathed.
