Vivian Rothstein

Vivian Rothstein, née Leburg (born 1945) is an activist.

She was part of the Mississippi Freedom Summer project of 1965.

In 1967 she was part of a peace delegation to North Vietnam, and her meeting then with the Vietnamese Women’s Union inspired her to become one of the founders of the Chicago Women's Liberation Union. The Chicago Women's Liberation Union was a feminist organization which was founded in 1969 at a conference in Palatine, Illinois. Rothstein was its first staff member, organized its representative decision-making part, and aided the establishment of its Liberation School for Women.

For a decade she was the executive director of the Ocean Park Community Center, a nonprofit agency for battered women and their offspring, homeless families, and homeless adults, located in Santa Monica, California.

She was also a community organizer for Students for a Democratic Society, and served with the American Friends Service Committee, specifically its Middle East Peace Education Program.

She was also a board member of Clergy and Laity United for Economic Justice.

In 2003 she began her employment with Los Angeles Alliance for a New Economy, and as of 2016 she is still employed there.

She is featured in the feminist history film She's Beautiful When She's Angry.
