Virginia Anne "Ginny" Gilder (born June 4, 1958) is an American former competitive rower and Olympic silver medalist. She was a member of the American women's quadruple sculls team that won the silver medal at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, California.
She is the daughter of Richard Gilder and was raised on the Upper East Side of Manhattan., where she attended the Chapin School. For high school she attended a boarding school, graduating one year early. Gilder went on to study history at Yale University, graduating in 1979. She was first selected for the U.S. Olympic team in 1980, the year that the United States boycotted the Olympic Games.
Gilder works as an investor and she is a co-owner of the Seattle Storm, a professional women's basketball team in the WNBA.
She is the author of Course Correction: A Story of Rowing and Resilience in the Wake of Title IX which was released April 14, 2015 by Beacon Press. The paperback and audiobook were released April 12, 2016.
