Vincent is a British crime drama series first broadcast on ITV on 10 October 2005. Starring Ray Winstone and Suranne Jones, the series follows the work of a private detective agency who investigate crimes that the police have failed to solve. Angel Coulby, Ian Puleston-Davies, Joe Absolom, Eva Pope and Philip Glenister also feature in the series. After successfully high ratings and critical acclaim for the first series; a second and final series was commissioned, which began transmission on 16 October 2006.
Despite consistently high viewing figures, and Winstone's expressed interest in continuing in the role; ITV chose to axe the series following the conclusion of series two. However, on 25 February 2016, all eight episodes were made available on the ITV store; and creator Stephen Butchard has expressed an interest in writing further episodes.
Vincent follows the work of a private detective agency based in Manchester, run by private investigator Vincent Gallagher (Winstone). Alongside with his sidekick Beth (Jones), junior PI Robert (Absolom) and fellow team members Gillian (Coulby) and John (Puleston-Davies), the team investigate a number of cases which the police would either refuse to touch - or have been unable to solve. Vincent's arch enemy, DCI Driscoll (Glenister) begins a relationship with his estranged wife, Cathy (Pope), much to Vincent's dismay. Cathy soon becomes pregnant, providing further anguish for Vincent.
