Vettai : Pledged to Hunt (Tamil: வேட்டை; English: Hunt) is the first season of Singapore's Tamil, 72-part crime drama, Vettai. The series ran on-air from November 23, 2010 to March 30, 2011, every Monday to Thursday, at 10.30pm at MediaCorp Vasantham. This season was directed by Anuratha Kanderaju and Abbas Akbar.
They are part of a special task force assembled just to tackle cases pertaining to the Indian community and Indian immigrants. The unit is not widely publicized and kept under wraps. Their work is consuming to say the least.
Spearheaded by Chief Dayanidhi, the team consists of three teams and an assigned criminologist. Together they try to tackle cold blooded murders, kidnaps and sexual crimes. But as their professional and personal lives collide, the team is headed towards a perilous outcome. Lives will be lost and bonds will be broken. The pledge that they made to uphold justice and peace in the country that they love will be put to the test.

EPISODE 13: “ AFTERMATH OF THE FOUL PLAY” Seelan and Nantha’s enmity rises to a whole new level as trust is questioned and suspicions are blazing.
EPISODE 14: “EULOGIES & BETRAYALS” The unit remembers and mourns their loss but on the other side acts of betrayal are shaking their very existence.
EPISODE 15: “JUST ADMIT IT!” When Nantha looks at Radha silently, it is obvious that he is really not as cold as he looks. But would Radha be able to tear down the wall that he has built around him?
EPISODE 16: “REUNION!” Shan and Radha get a tip off on a slavery ring in Chinatown. Can this lead bring them closer to solving the case?
EPISODE 17: “MORAL COMPASS” Mugi makes use of his influence to spend time with Shalini. Seelan is about to cross over to the dark side. Nantha catches Angel high on booze! Wanna use the moral compass, anyone?
EPISODE 18: “STAKES ARE HIGH!” Shalini calls Mugi with some leads on the rich elite kids and their drug pushers. Mugi uses this opportunity to rope in Shalini for the stakeout and leaves out Prakash.
Will Prakash endure this travesty as well or would he rise above it and put Mugi in his place?
