Vergennes is a village in Jackson County, Illinois, United States. The population was 491 at the 2000 census.
Vergennes is located at 37°54′11″N 89°20′24″W / 37.90306°N 89.34000°W (37.903152, -89.340111).
According to the 2010 census, Vergennes has a total area of 0.352 square miles (0.91 km2), of which 0.35 square miles (0.91 km2) (or 99.43%) is land and 0.002 square miles (0.01 km2) (or 0.57%) is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 491 people, 120 households, and 93 families residing in the village. The population density was 1,357.6 people per square mile (526.6/km²).
