Varavoor a lush green residential village in Thrissur district is in the state of Kerala, India. It is surrounded by small green hills and is 30 mins drive away from the cultural headquarters of Kerala. Varavoor was declared "litigation-free" village on 7 May 2000. Climatic conditions in and around Varavoor varies year round. The well-known pallakal pooram is usually held in the month of February welcoming guests from different parts of the city along with many expatriates. During the month of February the paddy field surrounding the pallakal temple is usually dry making it an ideal location for conducting pooram and firework's at night.

Varavoor is home to wide variety of flora and fauna. Many herbal plants are found in small patches around the town. Animals mainly include domestic types or harmless species. Peacock can be seen straying through the paddy fields rpeopledly. At night time there growing number of reported incidents of pork attacks on plantation and people.stray dogs have reportedly attacked and severely injured many people. During a community meeting it has been alleged that some residents are feeding stray dogs for their own self-protection, it is also claimed that these dogs are the ones that attack innocent people.

As of 2001 India census, Varavoor had a population of 7643 with 3617 males and 4026 females.

From state high way 22 (Thrissur - Shornoor high way SH22) Varavoor is just 10 minutes drive i.e. around 7 km, one needs to turn from Mullukara (SH22) and take Chittanda Thalasseri Road. Varavoor is 5 km from state highway 50 (Kunnamkulam Road). One can also reach Varavoor from SH39 (Cheruthuruthi - Perumpilavu Rd). It is around 12 km from state highway 39

The village is religiously and culturally rich. The world-famous Kerala Kalamandalam is just 8 min drive from here.
