Valparaiso is a village in Saunders County, Nebraska, United States. The population was 570 at the 2010 census.

The early history of Valparaiso is unclear. It first appeared on an 1863 map. Valparaiso is derived from a Spanish name meaning "vale of paradise". Valparaiso was incorporated in 1880.

Valparaiso is located at 41°04′48″N 96°49′51″W / 41.079961°N 96.830881°W / 41.079961; -96.830881 (41.079961, -96.830881).

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.56 square miles (1.45 km2), all land.

As of the census of 2010, there were 570 people, 241 households, and 157 families residing in the village. The population density was 1,017.9 inhabitants per square mile (393.0/km2). There were 276 housing units at an average density of 492.9 per square mile (190.3/km2). The racial makeup of the village was 97.7% White, 0.2% Native American, 0.4% Asian, 0.4% from other races, and 1.4% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.2% of the population.

There were 241 households of which 31.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 54.4% were married couples living together, 5.8% had a female householder with no husband present, 5.0% had a male householder with no wife present, and 34.9% were non-families. 30.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 14.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.37 and the average family size was 2.97.
