Valeriy P. Kuchinsky (Ukrainian: Валерій Павлович Кучинський) (Born: 25 October 1944, Kyiv) is a Ukrainian diplomat and politician, who has served as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine, and Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the United Nations. He has served on the Board of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, and as Executive Secretary of the Ukrainian National Commission for the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organizations (UNESCO). Adjunct Professor of International Relations Columbia University Ukrainian Studies Program.
Born in Kyiv, on 25 October 1944, Kuchinsky graduated from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, PhD (1967). He is fluent in Ukrainian, English, Russian and French.
From 1971 – he has worked for Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
In 1975–1980 – he was a member of the United Nations Secretariat.
