My general interests are Chemistry (also my current workfield) and I like to walk/bike around in nature.
I specialise in organic, organometallic and coordination chemistry. I studied chemistry at the Hanzehogeschool Groningen and University of Groningen (organic chemistry with Ben Feringa). After finishing my study I did a PhD in organometallic chemistry under guidance of Bart Hessen and Jan Teuben. From 2005 to 2008 I worked as a postdoc in Cardiff, Wales at Cardiff University (working on the synthesis of new carbene ligands) under guidance of Kingsley Cavell, Nancy Dervisi and Ian Fallis and later under guidance of Mike Coogan, working on transfer hydrogenation.
