Ups and Downsizing is the second album released by Flint, Michigan's The Swellers.
The band released My Everest in 2007. Ups and Downsizing was recorded in January 2009. A studio video was posted on January 16.
In April 2009, the band performed a handful of shows with This Time Next Year. In July, the band went on a tour of the US with Four Year Strong, Fireworks, Set Your Goals and Grave Maker.Ups and Downsizing was released through Fueled by Ramen on September 29. The title is half derived from a quote from the 1998 cult film The Big Lebowski. Vinyl pressings of the album were issued in three colors – "Dirt", "Rust", and "Leaves". 333 copies of each were produced. In June and July 2010, the band performed on Warped Tour. From mid-August to early October, the band supported Fireworks on their headlining tour of the US.
