Kentucky was won by President Bill Clinton (D) over Senator Bob Dole (R-KS), with Clinton winning 45.84% to 44.88% by a margin of 0.96%. Billionaire businessman Ross Perot (Reform Party of the United States of America-TX) finished in third with 8.67% of the popular vote. As of 2016, this is the last time that the Democratic nominee carried Kentucky.
