"Um grande, grande amor" ("A big, big love") was the Portuguese entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 1980, performed in Portuguese by José Cid.
The song is a moderately up-tempo number, with Cid describing his unbounded love. Unusually, the multilingual chorus features him bidding farewell to his lover, explaining that his love is sufficiently boundless that he will still be singing and happy even when it ends.
The song was performed fourteenth on the night, following the United Kingdom's Prima Donna with "Love Enough for Two" and preceding the Netherlands' Maggie MacNeal with "Amsterdam". At the close of voting, it had received 71 points, placing 7th in a field of 19 - Portugal's best result at the time.
