Trichogaster is a genus of gouramis native to South Asia from Pakistan to Myanmar. Species of this genus are very popular in the aquarium trade.
There are currently four recognized species in this genus: (Note that while FishBase also includes the moonlight gourami in this genus, most other sources include it in the genus Trichopodus.)
