Toronto Football Club, commonly referred to as Toronto FC or simply TFC, is a Canadian professional soccer club based in Toronto, Ontario. The club competes in Major League Soccer (MLS) as a member of the Eastern Conference. The club plays its home matches at BMO Field, located at Exhibition Place on Toronto's shoreline.
Toronto FC began play in 2007 as an expansion team, and was the first Canadian based franchise in the league. The team is coached by Greg Vanney and operated by Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment, which also operates the National Hockey League's Toronto Maple Leafs, the American Hockey League's Toronto Marlies, the National Basketball Association's Toronto Raptors (and the NBA Development League's Raptors 905 by extension) and the United Soccer League's Toronto FC II.
Toronto FC are five-time winners of the Canadian Championship, 2011–12 CONCACAF Champions League semi-finalists, and 2016 MLS Cup Playoffs Eastern Conference champions.
