Tom Connell is an Australian journalist currently serving as a political reporter for Sky News Australia. He began hosting The Morning Shift on 30 January 2017.
Connell obtained a Bachelor of Arts from Melbourne University and earned a postgraduate degree in journalism from RMIT University in 2009.
Connell joined Sky News in 2009, serving as a liaison producer and business reporter. In 2011, Connell served as a reporter based in Brisbane, which included covering the 2012 Queensland state election. The following year he relocated to Canberra as a Federal political reporter and member of the Canberra Press Gallery.
Connell is also a substitute anchor for numerous Sky News programs presented from Canberra, including the now defunct Saturday Agenda,The Latest with Laura Jayes and First Edition. He has also presented highlights packages of Australian question time which air on international news channels including C-SPAN in America.
