This Morning Summer is a spin-off from This Morning, a British daytime television programme. This Morning Summer has been aired on ITV each summer since 2010. Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford have been hosting the seven-week series, alongside guest presenters on Fridays. Since the 2014 series, the "Summer" in the programme's name has been dropped.
It is generally a continuation of the same format, effectively making This Morning a year-round broadcast.
Regular presenters, Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, take a break from duties during this time and are replaced by Holmes and Langsford between Monday and Thursdays. Holmes and Langsford also present all year-round on Fridays and during school holidays.
Whilst Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes present This Morning Summer from Monday to Thursday, various guest presenters stand-in on Fridays. The 2014 and 2015 Friday presenters were Rochelle Humes and Marvin Humes. The 2016 Friday presenters were Rylan Clark-Neal and Dan Neal or James Martin and Anita Rani.
ANote that the first Friday is usually a couple of weeks before the series begins, where Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford don't present for two consecutive Fridays in preparation for This Morning Summer. Guest presenters host the first Friday, then Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby/Amanda Holden present their last episode before the summer on the following Friday.
