The F.C.C. (Flying Cunts of Chaos) originally started as the backing band for Serj Tankian in support for his debut solo album, Elect the Dead. However, this came to an end as of 2009, and it was also announced that The F.C.C. would be writing their own album.

The F.C.C. began touring with Serj Tankian after the release of his debut solo album, Elect the Dead, in late 2007. The band performed its first show with Tankian, about 1,000 people attending, at the Vic Theater, a medium-sized venue, in Chicago on October 12, 2007. Tankian and The F.C.C. toured for the following year in support of Elect the Dead, playing a supporting tour with Foo Fighters, a headlining tour with Fair to Midland, as well as various festivals including Coachella, Big Day Out, and others.

In January 2009, Tankian announced that 2009 would be the last year that The F.C.C. would be his backing band. Through blogs and bulletins on both the Serjical Strike Records and his own personal MySpace, Tankian announced that The F.C.C. will be writing their own record in the near future. All five members of The F.C.C. will be collaborating to write original music and Tankian, himself, may also appear on a track. However, it will not be a "Serj Tankian & The F.C.C" album. Because the aforementioned blogs and bulletins were also posted on the Serjical Strike Records MySpace, the album may be released on Serjical Strike Records. Recently, an artist page for The F.C.C. appeared on the Serjical Strike Records official website. In July 2010 The F.C.C. released their debut single, "Daysheet Blues," on iTunes.

The F.C.C. backed Tankian once again for his Imperfect Harmonies tour in autumn of 2010, however the tour was postponed after only a few dates for unspecified reasons.
