The Doors: Vinyl Box Set is the seventh box set for the rock band The Doors. It is a 7 record set of the original 6 Doors albums, remastered in stereo from the original analogue tapes with a mono version of the debut album. Artwork, packaging, and inner sleeves are replicas of the originals from 1967-1971. The box set was originally planned to be released in October 2007, but was delayed due to a problem with the vinyl, as well as other problems in the production of the box set. The delay ran until February 2008. Reasons for the delay included faulty test pressings, inferiority of the L.A. Woman artwork, and bad compounds in the vinyl that was used first, which caused a search for a new source of virgin vinyl.
The box set is now available on Rhino Records. The box set will be available for a short time in a limited edition, serial numbered run of 12,500.
All songs written by Jim Morrison, Robby Krieger, Ray Manzarek, and John Densmore, except where noted. (NOTE: This goes for all the albums in the box set.)
