The Best of The Doors is a two-disc compilation album consisting of 19 songs of The Doors. It was commercially released in 1985. All of the songs were a part of previous Doors albums. Included in the set are the Doors' two famous epic poems, "When the Music's Over", and "The End", which end disc one and two, respectively. Danny Sugerman contributed a short essay which discussed the band's origins, influences and Jim Morrison's personality, and was printed inside the gatefold sleeve of the vinyl version of the album. Remastered versions of the album were released in 1991 and 2006. The album was very popular and had strong sales. It remains the band's best selling release, and is one of the best selling albums of all time. In February 2007 the RIAA certified this album as Diamond.

All songs by The Doors (John Densmore, Robby Krieger, Ray Manzarek, and Jim Morrison), except where noted.
