Texas A&M International University, often referred to as TAMIU, is a public, co-educational, state-supported university located in Laredo, Texas. The university has a modern campus on a 300-acre (1.2 km2) site in Laredo, Texas. It is a Member of the Texas A&M University System which is one of the largest systems of higher education in the nation. Located in Laredo, Texas, a crossroads of culture and commerce, TAMIU is a major regional educational institution of choices in the State's fastest-growing demographic area and home to over 7500+ students each academic semester. TAMIU offers over 70 undergraduate, graduate or doctoral degrees in the arts and sciences, business administration, and nursing in the four colleges of the University.
The most popular undergraduate majors are business administration, criminal justice, nursing, biology and communication disorders. The top graduate majors are business administration, educational administration, counseling psychology, school counseling and accounting. The college of Arts and Science's nationally accredited programs are dedicated to providing students with thought-provoking, up-to-dated concepts, and learning experiences that make it the University's largest and most comprehensive academic unit. Over 35 undergraduate majors, 32 undergraduate minors, and 12 graduate degrees programs in the fine and performing art, sciences, humanities, social sciences, behavioral sciences, mathematics, and engineering are available.

Sánchez, Jr. School of Business was named one of the “Best 296 Business Schools” by The Princeton Review and ranked in the Top Ten for offering the greatest opportunity for minority students. The Sánchez School of Business offers a doctoral degree in international business. A. R. Sanchez, Jr. School of Business is devoted to creating a learning experience that increases the knowledge, skills, and professional ethics of new generation of future business leaders who will function in diverse, global competitive environment. The business programs are geared to both domestic and international markets, with many of its faculties teaching and researching interest related to globalization.
