Terry Ray Bankert is a Flint, Michigan politician, former City of Flint Ombudsman and lawyer.
Bankert was appointed in 1983 Flint City Clerk and served until being appointed Flint City Ombudsman in 1987. He ran for Flint 7th Ward City Council seat in 2005 losing in the nonpartisan primary to Jim Ananich and Clyde D. Edwards. In 2009, Bankert was a number of lawyers under consideration to be appointed by Governor Grandholm for the vacancy in the position of Probate Judge for Genesee County caused by the death of the judge.
