Terrace House (テラスハウス?) is a Japanese reality television show franchise. The show's first run, subtitled Boys × Girls Next Door, originally aired on Fuji Television's "Cool TV" segment from October 12, 2012 to September 29, 2014 for eight seasons, after which a standalone movie was released as a continuation/conclusion of the show. Starting September 2, 2015, a new season subtitled Boys & Girls in the City premiered on Netflix as a Netflix Original. The new show is a Netflix and Fuji co-production which is also broadcast on Fuji Television in Japan.
The first eight seasons of the show took place in a modernistic house with a terrace located in the Shōnan area. The Netflix Original switched the location to a similar house at an undisclosed location in central Tokyo. After the Tokyo season, the show moved to Hawaii and was titled Aloha State.
