Tenniken is a municipality in the district of Sissach in the canton of Basel-Country in Switzerland.

Tenniken has an area, as of 2009, of 4.66 square kilometers (1.80 sq mi). Of this area, 2.23 km2 (0.86 sq mi) or 47.9% is used for agricultural purposes, while 1.92 km2 (0.74 sq mi) or 41.2% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 0.53 km2 (0.20 sq mi) or 11.4% is settled (buildings or roads).

Of the built up area, housing and buildings made up 5.8% and transportation infrastructure made up 4.5%. Out of the forested land, 40.1% of the total land area is heavily forested and 1.1% is covered with orchards or small clusters of trees. Of the agricultural land, 23.0% is used for growing crops and 20.8% is pastures, while 4.1% is used for orchards or vine crops.

The blazon of the municipal coat of arms is Per pale, Or a letter Tau Sable, and bendy of six Sable and Argent.

Tenniken has a population (as of March 2016) of 909. As of 2008, 6.6% of the population are resident foreign nationals. Over the last 10 years (1997–2007) the population has changed at a rate of -7.3%.

Most of the population (as of 2000) speaks German (875 or 97.2%), with Spanish being second most common (8 or 0.9%) and French being third (4 or 0.4%).

As of 2008, the gender distribution of the population was 47.9% male and 52.1% female. The population was made up of 824 Swiss citizens (93.0% of the population), and 62 non-Swiss residents (7.0%) Of the population in the municipality 271 or about 30.1% were born in Tenniken and lived there in 2000.
