Tenggerese language (sometimes referred to as Tengger Javanese language) is a language used by the Tenggerese people in the mountain region of the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park which includes Pasuruan Regency, Probolinggo Regency, Malang Regency and Lumajang Regency of East Java, Indonesia.
Linguistically, Tenggerese language is part of Javanese language in the Formosan languages branch of the Austronesian languages.
Some regard the Tenggerese language as descendant of the Kawi language and have retained old vocabularies that are no longer used in modern Javanese language.
