The Tempe Fire Medical Rescue Department provides fire protection and emergency medical services to the city of Tempe, Arizona. The TFMRD responded to 21,772 incidents during 2013, with 82% being for emergency medical services. The department protects an area of 40.5 square miles (105 km2), which includes Arizona State University, and services a population of just over 162,677 people. Additionally, the TFMRD has mutual aid agreements with 26 other fire departments in the Phoenix area.

In 2013, the department changed its name to Tempe Fire Medical Rescue Department to "more accurately portray to the citizens the services that our organization provides to the community."
