Takkar (English: Collision) is a 1980 Bollywood Hindi Action film, produced by G. A. Seshagiri Rao by Padmalaya Studios, presented by Krishna & directed by K. Bapaiah. Starring Ashok Kumar, Sanjeev Kumar, Jeetendra, Zeenat Aman, Jaya Prada in the lead roles and music composed by R. D. Burman. The film is a remake of Telugu Movie Devudu Chesina Manushulu (1973), starring N.T.Rama Rao, Krishna, S. V. Ranga Rao, Jayalalithaa, Vijaya Nirmala in pivotal roles.
This film is first debut to Padmalaya Studios into Bollywood after this they have built nearing 20 films in Hindi such as Himmatwala, Justice Chaudhry, Sooryavansham, Aamdani Atthani Kharcha Rupaiyaa etc.
The story is about a Zamindar (Ashok Kumar) his eldest son Kishan (Sanjeev Kumar) gets lost in childhood due to the wickedness of his stepmother and her brother, who attempts to kill him. After that, he becomes a smuggler as Suraj who later changes to a good man and accidental way come to his estate but couldn't reveal his identity as his past haunts him. While on the other hand Zamindar's second son Vijay (Jeetendra) and daughter Meena (Bindiya Goswami) lead a careless life and level-headed. And on the other hand, a smuggler assumes the identity of an honest man Vinod Saxena (Vinod Mehra), who looks like him, in order to evade the police. Finally, he gets the smugglers and his gang arrested, brings change in his brother and sister's behavior and joins his family, they live happily ever after.
