Kirsnick Khari Ball (born June 18, 1994), better known by his stage name Takeoff, is an American hip hop recording artist from Lawrenceville, Georgia. He is best known as a member of the hip hop group Migos, along with Quavo and Offset.
Takeoff was born June 18, 1994. In 2009, along with Quavo and Offset, he formed the Migos rap group, initially under the name Polo Club. All three members of the group are related and were raised together; Takeoff is Quavo's nephew, and Offset is Quavo's cousin.
The group first started gaining popularity in 2013 with their single "Versace", after it was remixed by Drake. They slowly kept rising in popularity in the following years, with the singles "Hannah Montana", "Fight Night", and "Look At My Dab". They are credited for inventing the "dab" dance.
In 2016, after releasing an EP titled 3 Way and a few singles, Migos released "Bad and Boujee" featuring Lil Uzi Vert. The song would soon become an internet phenomenon, spawning a variety of memes, and soon making the hit single peak at number one on the Billboard Hot 100, making it Migos' most successful song to date. Takeoff's absence from the single has spawned controversy. Takeoff himself has stated however that he was simply busy, and thus could not participate in the recording. More controversy was created however, when during the 2017 BET Awards, Complex's Everyday Struggle was interviewing Migos, resulting in a lot of internet memes regarding Takeoff's answer to a question about his absence from the song, and the inabillity of the interviewers to hear him properly.
