The Taipei Metro C321 is a type of used on the Taipei Metro. It is currently in service on Line 5, following its use on Line 2. The trains were made by Siemens and began operation in 1998 and 1999.
The train design was based on the Modular Metro, while the exterior and interior dimensions and configurations are the same as the C301.
The interior design is used in C341 and C371 where the blue rectangle on top of the lights and the gangway out was situated.
The seats can face forward or backward. Most seats are turquoise, while the Reserved/Priority seats are navy blue. The Priority seats are at the sides, and 8 seats are between doors, while 3 seats are next to the end of the car and doors.
As with the C301 Trains, the Passenger Information Display does not show the doors opening and closing or the time until the refurbishment of the sets. Before the refurbishment, it shows the station design and the terminal. Bicycle racks are available at the 1st and 6th cars.
The train was number between x101/x102 to x171/x172, which was the second type of Taipei Metro Trains. Initially it was decided to range from x045/x046 to x115/x116, but to contrast with the older trains, the second digit became '1' instead of '0'.
As with the other MRT train sets, the 1st and 6th cars were always in spot 1 while 2nd and 5th cars were always in spot 2, and the middle carriages were always in spot 3.
The Taipei Metro C341 was developed directly from the C321, using the IGBT-VVVF inverters, for the Tucheng extension of the Bannan Line. The Kaohsiung MRT also uses the Siemens trains derived from the Taipei Metro.
