Taça Brasil de Basquete

The Campeonato Brasileiro de Basquete (English: Brazilian Basketball Championship) was the main men's professional basketball league in Brazil. The championship was organized by the Brazilian Basketball Confederation (CBB). During the 2005–06 season, the tournament was canceled due to a dispute with the NLB ("Nossa Liga de Basquete"), led by former player Oscar Schmidt.

The championship had organizational problems, and in 2004, were nicknamed "Liga do Busão" ("bus league"), due to transportation by bus, as the CBB wouldn't pay for it, and airplanes tickets were too expensive. It was later replaced by the Novo Basquete Brasil (NBB) in 2008 and organized by the Liga Nacional de Basquete (LNB).

The Taça Brasil de Basquete (Brazilian Basketball Cup) was contested from 1965 to 1989, and was then replaced by the Campeonato Brasileiro de Basquete (Brazilian Basketball Championship).

From 2002 on, most teams have their names with the sponsor first. In 1992, and from 1996 to 2000, the sponsor is the latter name.

In 2006, the Campeonato Brasileiro, organized by the Brazilian Basketball Confederation (CBB), was cancelled due to a legal dispute between the CBB and the Nossa Liga de Basquetebol (NLB). Winner/Limeira was the champion of the competition organized by the NLB.

The NBB is endorsed by the Brazilian Basketball Confederation, and organized by the Liga Nacional de Basquete (LNB), in a new format of the Brazilian premier basketball league. Which is managed for the first time by 19 Brazilian basketball teams, all LNB founding members.

Including Taça Brasil, Campeonato Brasileiro, and NBB.
