Sutton is a city in Clay County, Nebraska, United States. The population was 1,502 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Hastings, Nebraska Micropolitan Statistical Area.

Sutton was laid out in 1871 when the Burlington and Missouri River Railroad was extended to that point. It was named after the town of Sutton, Massachusetts.

Sutton is located at 40°36′24″N 97°51′31″W / 40.60667°N 97.85861°W / 40.60667; -97.85861 (40.606739, -97.858723).

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.99 square miles (5.15 km2), all of it land.

As of the census of 2010, there were 1,502 people, 612 households, and 414 families residing in the city. The population density was 754.8 inhabitants per square mile (291.4/km2).
