Suhr is a municipality in the district of Aarau of the canton of Aargau in Switzerland.
Suhr has an area, as of 2006[update], of 10.6 km2 (4.1 sq mi). Of this area, 29.9% is used for agricultural purposes, while 44.4% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 25.2% is settled (buildings or roads) and the remainder (0.5%) is non-productive (rivers or lakes).
The blazon of the municipal coat of arms is Gules a Latin Cross pattee Argent and in Chief two Mullets of Five of the same and Coupeaux Vert.
Suhr has a population (as of 31 December 2016) of 9,990. As of 2008[update], 30.5% of the population was made up of foreign nationals. Over the last 10 years the population has grown at a rate of 19.2%. Most of the population (as of 2000[update]) speaks German (84.2%), with Italian being second most common ( 4.3%) and Serbo-Croatian being third ( 2.6%).
The age distribution, as of 2008[update], in Suhr is; 1,057 children or 11.1% of the population are between 0 and 9 years old and 1,099 teenagers or 11.5% are between 10 and 19. Of the adult population, 1,331 people or 13.9% of the population are between 20 and 29 years old. 1,422 people or 14.9% are between 30 and 39, 1,536 people or 16.1% are between 40 and 49, and 1,252 people or 13.1% are between 50 and 59. The senior population distribution is 847 people or 8.9% of the population are between 60 and 69 years old, 602 people or 6.3% are between 70 and 79, there are 353 people or 3.7% who are between 80 and 89,and there are 57 people or 0.6% who are 90 and older.
