Suchy is a municipality in the district of Jura-Nord Vaudois of the canton of Vaud in Switzerland.
Suchy is first mentioned in 885 as Solpiaco id est Suzchie.
Suchy has an area, as of 2009[update], of 6.7 square kilometers (2.6 sq mi). Of this area, 3.97 km2 (1.53 sq mi) or 59.6% is used for agricultural purposes, while 2.48 km2 (0.96 sq mi) or 37.2% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 0.23 km2 (0.089 sq mi) or 3.5% is settled (buildings or roads).
Of the built up area, housing and buildings made up 1.5% and transportation infrastructure made up 1.2%. Out of the forested land, all of the forested land area is covered with heavy forests. Of the agricultural land, 50.0% is used for growing crops and 8.7% is pastures.
The municipality was part of the Yverdon District until it was dissolved on 31 August 2006, and Suchy became part of the new district of Jura-Nord Vaudois.
The blazon of the municipal coat of arms is Per pale Argent and Azure, two Keys in saltire counterchanged.
Suchy has a population (as of December 2015[update]) of 542. As of 2008[update], 10.2% of the population are resident foreign nationals. Over the last 10 years (1999–2009 ) the population has changed at a rate of 25.1%. It has changed at a rate of 18.6% due to migration and at a rate of 6% due to births and deaths.
Most of the population (as of 2000[update]) speaks French (316 or 91.6%) as their first language, with German being second most common (19 or 5.5%) and Portuguese being third (6 or 1.7%).
