Subingen is a municipality in the district of Wasseramt in the canton of Solothurn in Switzerland.

Subingen has an area, as of 2009^[update], of 6.25 square kilometers (2.41 sq mi). Of this area, 3.01 km² (1.16 sq mi) or 48.2% is used for agricultural purposes, while 1.87 km² (0.72 sq mi) or 29.9% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 1.28 km² (0.49 sq mi) or 20.5% is settled (buildings or roads), 0.04 km² (9.9 acres) or 0.6% is either rivers or lakes and 0.01 km² (2.5 acres) or 0.2% is unproductive land.

Of the built up area, industrial buildings made up 2.6% of the total area while housing and buildings made up 10.1% and transportation infrastructure made up 6.2%. while parks, green belts and sports fields made up 1.3%. Out of the forested land, 28.2% of the total land area is heavily forested and 1.8% is covered with orchards or small clusters of trees. Of the agricultural land, 40.2% is used for growing crops and 7.0% is pastures. All the water in the municipality is flowing water.

The blazon of the municipal coat of arms is Azure an Oxen passant on Coupeaux and in Chief a Mullet of Five all Argent.

Subingen has a population (as of December 2015^[update]) of 3,068. As of 2008^[update], 16.1% of the population are resident foreign nationals. Over the last 10 years (1999–2009 ) the population has changed at a rate of 9.2%. It has changed at a rate of 5.9% due to migration and at a rate of 2.1% due to births and deaths.

Most of the population (as of 2000^[update]) speaks German (2,396 or 91.3%), with Italian being second most common (47 or 1.8%) and Turkish being third (44 or 1.7%). There are 13 people who speak French and 2 people who speak Romansh.
