"State of Mind" (2003) is the title track and only single to be lifted from Holly Valance's second album State of Mind. It became her third top ten single in the United Kingdom (peaking at number eight), spending a total of ten weeks in the top seventy-five. In Australia, it debuted at number twenty one, breaking into the top twenty at number sixteen in its second week and peaked at number fourteen in its third week. It spent thirteen weeks in the ARIA top fifty and an overall nineteen weeks in the top one hundred. The single was also released as DVD single in the United Kingdom.
The video was directed by Jake Nava. At first the music video shows Holly driving her car, a 1966 Oldsmobile Toronado, on her way to a club. It continues to show the street as it goes on. At one point when driving, Holly stops at the red light and turns to the side. She sees two girls, and once the light turns green she gives them a finger and storms off. Soon after it shows Holly entering a club and towards the end of the chorus it shows Holly performing the song on a stage. It then sets on her dancing on the floor, she then begins to crawl on the floor. The chorus then once again begins and Holly starts performing the song on stage. Once the chorus is finished Holly walks off backstage and gets ready. She runs out and goes into her car again. It's morning again and Holly drives to the outside of a building, she walks into the building and begins to pose on a bed. Throughout the video it shows what the people in the background are doing.
