St Ambrose Barlow Roman Catholic High School is a secondary school located in Wardley, Greater Manchester, England. At the latest inspection carried out by Ofsted in October 2016, the school was rated as "requires improvement"

The school serves a wide range of parishes including St Charles' (Swinton), St Mark’s (Pendlebury), St Mary’s (Swinton), St Luke’s (Irlams o' th' Height), St Edmund’s (Little Hulton) and Christ the King (Walkden). St Ambrose Barlow has been accredited with many national awards including National Teaching School status, the School Inclusion Award and Dyslexia Friendly Status. 92% of pupils are baptised Roman Catholic.

In April 2013, the school moved into a new building in Wardley near Swinton after being located in Shaftesbury Road in nearby Swinton since its foundation in the 1950s. St George's RC High School closed in August 2014 with most pupils transferring to St Ambrose Barlow's.

The old site of St Ambrose Barlow is now used for filming the CBBC show "4 O'Clock Club", for both interior and exterior shots. The site was first used for filming in the summer of 2013. Series 3 aired in 2014, and the site was first shown in Episode 3 - Merger. St Ambrose Barlow has continued to be the building for Elmsmere throughout Series 4, Series 5, and Series 6 (which aired in 2017), and is expected to be the location for Series 7, which is expected to be filmed in Summer 2017 and to air in 2018.

In September 2013 an inspection of the school was carried out in accordance with Section 48 of the Education Act 2005. The Diocese of Salford awarded the school "Outstanding" in all seven categories.

In addition to its status as National Teaching School, St Ambrose Barlow was one of 30 in the country to become a ‘School of Creativity’ - chosen by the government to work with a learning programme developed by the Arts Council of England.

Executive Principal, Mrs. C. M. Garside, was awarded CBE for Services to Education in January 2015.
