Sreya Jayadeep (born November 5, 2005) is an Indian playback singer from the state of Kerala. She has recorded for several music albums, and has sung for several films in the Malayalam cinema industry. She has appeared on the TV shows Surya Singer and Sun singer.
Sreya was born in the city of Kozhikode in 2005. Her parents are Jayadeep and Praseetha, and she has a younger brother, Sourav.
She recorded more than 50 devotional and film songs by the age of ten. Sreya's first commercial song was on the Christian devotional album HITHAM, and she later recorded an entire album SREYAM. Her mother recalls that she began singing songs by hearing the television and the radio at the age of two. She started learning classical music at the age of four.
Her schooling began in Silver Hills Higher Secondary School, Calicut. There she found the right terrain to toddle into the vast world of music under the guidance of the principal Fr. Jonny Kanjirathinkal, who has been her greatest support ever since.
Currently Sreya is a 6th grader in the prestigious CMI Institution, Devagiri CMI Public School. Father Johnny Kanjirathikal’s transfer to the same school was a great blessing for little Sreya which gave her even more support and goodwill.
Sreya started her music lesson from the tender age of three. Her guru in classical music is Thamarakad Krishnan Namboodiri.The renowned play back singer Sathish Babu trains her in different genres of music.
She has won the Surya Star singer contest and later she left her audience awestruck in the Sun Star Singer Contest where she clinched the first prize. She proved her talent with the song “Nalla Intha Vela Parthu”
As mentioned, Surya Star Singer title opened new portals for little Sreya. First songs in her credit are Chemma chemma chemmanoru and Tharattupattum in the movie “Weeping Boy”.
Nirnayakam, Amar Akbar Anthony, Saigal Padukayannu, Malgudi Days are a few in her credit. She has proved herself in more than eighteen movies at this early age. The super duper song enno jan ente muttathorattathu took her beyond the state boundary.
The melodious song in the blockbuster movie “Oppam” had four lakh viewers in four days. Many more of her silver screen projects are waiting for release. A few are ”Kranthi, Gold Coin, Pallikoodam, Pathrosinte pramanam” etc.
