Springfield Township is a township in Mercer County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 1,981 at the 2010 census.
Johnston's Tavern was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1972.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 27.4 square miles (71.0 km2), of which, 27.2 square miles (70.4 km2) of it is land and 0.2 square miles (0.6 km2) of it (0.84%) is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 1,972 people, 717 households, and 570 families residing in the township. The population density was 72.5 people per square mile (28.0/km2). There were 771 housing units at an average density of 28.4/sq mi (10.9/km2). The racial makeup of the township was 98.63% White, 0.25% African American, 0.10% Native American, 0.35% Asian, 0.10% Pacific Islander, and 0.56% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.20% of the population.
There were 717 households, out of which 34.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 67.1% were married couples living together, 7.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 20.4% were non-families. 16.9% of all households were made up of individuals, and 8.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.74 and the average family size was 3.09.
