The Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (Spanish: Partido Socialista Obrero Español [paɾˈtiðo soθjaˈlista oβɾeɾo espaˈɲol] ( listen); better known by its initials, PSOE [peˈsoe] ( listen)), is a social-democraticpolitical party in Spain. PSOE formed the government in democratic Spain from 1982 to 1996 under Felipe González, and from 2004 to 2011 under José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero.
