South Toledo Bend is a census-designated place (CDP) in Newton County, Texas, United States. The population was 524 at the 2010 census, down from 576 at the 2000 census.
South Toledo Bend is located at 31°9′24″N 93°36′27″W / 31.15667°N 93.60750°W (31.156779, -93.607466). According to the United States Census Bureau in 2000, the CDP has a total area of 21.2 square miles (55 km2), of which, 18.5 square miles (48 km2) of it is land and 2.7 square miles (7.0 km2) of it (12.85%) is water. The CDP lost area prior to the 2010 census. The new total area is 5.7 square miles (15 km2), of which, 3.2 square miles (8.3 km2) of it is land and 2.5 square miles (6.5 km2) is water.
As of the census of 2000, there were 576 people, 289 households, and 199 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 31.2 people per square mile (12.1/km²). There were 723 housing units at an average density of 39.2/sq mi (15.1/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 96.70% White, 2.26% African American, 0.35% Native American, 0.17% Asian, and 0.52% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.69% of the population.
